The news yesterday, but the invention already hung in the air for some time. In fact, after the development of technology 3D printers, capable of reproducing the model in plastic, now comes the first 3D laser printer capable of printing the layers of human skin , useful for wound healing.

The invention comes from ' University of Wake Forest of North Carolina that has developed this new technology able to help people who have mostly burns on several parts of their bodies or wounds difficult to treat.

The system, called "bioprinting" is similar to a printer: the first 3D laser integrated detect the extent and depth of the part to be repaired and then create a three-dimensional piece of skin that will be entirely appropriate then "printed" in a combination of skin cells, collagen and coagulation, directly on the wound. Even if the wound has to heal in every case, the healing process is made much faster (Source: Corriere.it ).

Now we only hope skin that 3D printers will spread rapidly in medical institutions, so that the price will drop and become affordable even for the Italian health care facilities.
