Geralt Rivia is one of the owls, a murderess of monsters. And it is the best: he can only deal with a basilisk, survive an encounter with a mermaid, vanquish a horde of goblins or take a message to Queen of the Dryads, fair warrior of the woods who kill anyone who ventures into their territory. Geralt is not, however, a ruthless mercenary, willing to commit any atrocity in return for appropriate compensation: of knights, a code has to be respected. That's why King Niedamir is surprised to see him among the hunters he had gathered to delete a gray dragon, a being untouchable for strings. And, indeed, Geralt is there for a reason quite different: it has discovered that the king has summoned Yennefer well as the sorceress, the only woman he ever loved. Striga will therefore be obliged to make a painful choice: to defend the dragon and lose Yennefer forever, or breaking the code of the strings just to win back her heart ...
